Morpheus Digest #2
Here’s our second edition of our highlight recap from the Morpheus ecosystem. The decentralized AI ecosystem is developing at lightning speed, so we want this to be your go-to for the latest developments.
Let’s dive in.
MOR Token Has A Successful Launch
On May 8th, the MOR token trading and claiming for capital providers and coders successfully went live on the Arbitrum network. Over 200,000 MOR tokens were claimed by early Morpheus adopters, and $10 million was traded on decentralized exchange Uniswap through the ETH/MOR pair.
The token now trades for $128 with a $5.3 billion fully diluted valuation. More than 100,000 ETH (roughly $300 million) was contributed to the platform, making it the sixth largest wallet for staked ETH.
Erik Voorhees Launches Private, Permissionless AI app: Venice
On May 10th, Morpheus contributor and Bitcoin OG Erik Voorhees launched privacy-focused and permissionless AI platform, Venice AI. The platform uses decentralized compute from Morpheus ecosystem participants, and offers users the option to use a ChatGPT alternative but “without the Orwellian stuff,” said Voorhees upon launching.
Users can now try Venice AI for text, image generation, and coding.
Lumerin Launches Testnet Node of Decentralized AI Compute on Morpheus
On May 10th, Web3 data routing protocol, Lumerin, announced a testnet node for decentralized AI compute on the Morpheus network.
Lumerin was the first peer-to-peer marketplace to trade Bitcoin’s hashpower, and has now set its eyes on decentralized AI. The move to implement a testnet node is for developing dApps that use AI to make Web3 more accessible, transparent, and efficient.
According to the team, the testnet node will go live in Q2 or Q3.
SocialFi Platform NounSpace Announced MOR20 Project
On May 10th, social finance platform NounSpace announced it was launching an upcoming SPACE token based on the MOR20 fair launch platform.
The project will open their stake-to-earn program on June 11, offering users the option to earn SPACE tokens when staking their ETH. It will allow anyone who deposits stETH to allocate their yield to one or more specific projects.

FreeAI Day Takes Place In Puerto Rico
On May 15th, Morpheus’s community got together to celebrate FreeAI day. In San Juan, Puerto Rico, dozens of members met up to focus on projects and initiatives that are building and making accessible open source, decentralized, and uncensored AI and it's infrastructure.

Ask Me Anything (AMA) With Leading Morpheus Contributors
On May 17th, Morpheus open source contributors David Johnston and Ryan Condron held an AMA to talk all things decentralized AI with the community on Discord.
The conversation began with some details about the recent token launch, later diving into the details about the MOR20 fair launch platform, and finally revolved around how decentralized AI computing will be the next big phase in crypto.
Latest MRCs
Morpheus Request for Comment (MRCs) keep the Morpheus protocol moving forward. Two of the latest MRCs dropped in the past 24 hours.
MRC35 establishes a LLM designed to perform function calling within a structured scheme, allowing for users to interact with the model in a more dynamic and utilitarian manner.
MRC36 aims to reward long term contributors by allowing them to voluntarily lock their MOR tokens for a predetermined period of time. Those that do, will receive an increase in the amount of MOR tokens rewarded already. The team has proposed two different options.
